About the Programme

The Outvertising Mentor Programme exists to help LGBTQIA+ talent, either new to or looking to join the industry, thrive. We believe that with the right infrastructure of support in place a new generation of talent can come through, bringing with them enormous value, diversity and creativity to an industry where senior LGBTQIA+ visibility is low.

The programme’s mentors are all Outvertising volunteers, senior-leaders in the industry with a wealth of knowledge, and are either from the LGBTQIA+ community themselves or straight allies.

All mentors will have gone through mentor training in preparation for the programme’s launch.

The programme runs over a 6 month period and you can expect anywhere between 6-12 sessions with your partner in addition to Outvertising run sessions and check-ins.

To apply to take part as either a mentor or mentee, please complete the application form. Once you've done that we will review the information you've shared to make sure you're matched as best as possible to compliment each other's skills and ambitions.

Who can apply

If you're from the LGBTQIA+ community and are looking to get into the industry or have been working in the industry for less than five years and would like to apply to be a mentee, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Mentoring?

We believe good Mentors are vital in providing support and guidance to those in the LGBTQIA+ community at work. Mentors play a key role in increasing their Mentees’ ability to thrive and as such increase the visibility and representation of the LGBTQIA+ community within the industry.

Our Mentors

First off, all of the Mentors in the Outvertising Mentoring program are volunteers with Outvertising. They have all completed mentoring training, and signed up to our code of conduct. Experienced figures in the advertising and marketing industries bringing with them strong leadership experience and long tenures in the industry. The majority of our Mentors are also LGBTQIA+ community members or allies.

At the end of the programme your Mentor will invite you to share the experience and any feedback you may have in order for us to improve the programme.
